Juvenile Easter Performances

It was an action-packed weekend for many in our thriving juvenile section which includes those in National School and our teenagers.

Our good Friday club 5k was packed with many of our juvenile members with some standout performers from those 12 and under, the pick of those were:

Oran Dolan 20.25

Daithi McIntyre 21.49

Eli Duffy 22.13

Ceola Scanlon 22.34

Our teenagers also performed well with some impressive performances from 18 yr old Shay Davis to finish 2nd with a time of 16.48 and 16 yr Cormac Dillon with a time of 18.01.

What was even more impressive was the fact that these two young athletes returned to the roads of North Sligo on Easter Monday in Carney, with Shay running a seriously impressive Half Marathon debut time of 1.18.30 to finish 3rd and Cormac smashing his 10k PB to record a time of 37.33 and finish 7th. These two dedicated athletes are starting to see the rewards for their consistent efforts. We look forward to seeing their upwards trajectory continue over the coming years.

Tara Carroll and Nicole Gallagher also ran impressively on Friday to record times of 22.17 and 23.40 respectively.

Our distance runners weren’t to be outdone over the weekend with some of our sprinters venturing over to the dark side! Darren Gilroy (20.41), Bruce Phillips (21.48) and Keelan Gilmartin (23.31) running in the Good Friday 5k and Conor Mulligan running well in the Carney 10k.
